At a recent promotional event
to hype the upcoming supernatural-historical action hybrid Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter in Springfield, IL, attendees were
treated to a trio of new videos released especially for the occasion. Those
videos are now online and you can watch them here below.
The first was a standard behind-the-scenes featurette that runs less than two minutes and features soundbites from director Timur Bekmambetov, producer Tim Burton, and others alongside clips from the movie that were recently seen in the teaser trailer.
The second features Tim Burton
giving an introduction quite befitting of Tim Burton, perhaps not the awesome
Tim Burton we had back in the 80′s and early 90′s, but the Tim Burton we have
now and we all must live with that. It’s a strange video with Burton standing
in a snowy graveyard surrounded by motionless figures holding umbrellas while
he speaks in a voice that may not be entirely his, lending the clip an even
creepier vibe.
The third and most interesting video features director Bekmambetov, lead actor Benjamin Walker, co-screenwriter and novelist Seth Grahame-Smith, and producer Jim Lemley being shown around a vault of Lincoln-related memorabilia, with a few props relevant to the movie thrown in. It’s shrewd, but also frustrating because if you’re like me you’ll be left wondering if the whole video is just an elaborate goof.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens on June 22, 2012.
